Do I need an Advisor?

We will not be requiring your advisor’s approval for eCore classes any more. However, we strongly advise you to seek your advisor’s approval, just so you won’t be taking something you don’t need. If you don't know who your advisor is, then the department chair of your major can be used (http://www.spsu.edu – look under your school and dept). If you don't have a major yet, then you can contact Mr. Jon Lindsay (jlindsay@spsu.edu). If you're a transient student, you'll need to talk with your advisor at your home school about whether a course is equivalent or transfers to another course.

More information

Students interested in eCore may visit the state’s eCore web site http://ecore.usg.edu. The eCore website can answer most of your questions and can help you decide if online learning is right for you.

Students who have never taken an online course often think online courses are easier than traditional courses. This is NOT true. Most online students report that they spend more time on their online courses than on their face-to-face courses.

Call 678-915-4984 if you have additional questions about eCore.
