Policies from eCore® and SPSU

This table contains some of the more important and frequently-sought information. Some of this information appears only here.

Registration SPSU has an extended registration for eCore. Check the academic schedule at left for dates.
Registration Procedure Once you know what courses you want to take, please go to the following website http://ecore.usg.edu/reg/spsu and complete the eCore online orientation and very short quiz at the end. Within 48 business hours once registration is opened, you will be entered into the Georgia ONmyLINE (GOML) system, and you will receive an email with registration instructions.
Drop/Add Check the eCore academic schedule at left for dates.
Withdrawal Procedures Students must withdraw online using the withdrawal form. Once eCore removes you from the eCore class, then eCore notifies SPSU, and we can remove you from Banner.
Refunds Students who withdraw from eCore after drop/add do not receive a refund, unless you withdraw from all classes in the term, and then the refund will be pro-rated. SPSU cannot overrule eCore's policies.

Specific Class Times Most eCore courses do not have any specified meeting times; however, that does not mean the instructor cannot schedule meeting times. Note: if an instructor schedules specific meeting times online, this is not a reasonable excuse for withdrawing (without penalty) from your class.
Books Books are the responsibility of each student. They are available for purchase online 24 hours/day. Order in plenty of time to have your books when classes start. Not having a book is not an acceptable excuse for withdrawal. Please click on this link to find which textbooks, lab supplies, etc. are needed for your eCore class: http://ecore.usg.edu/courses/textbooks.php.
Lab Kits Lab kits are the responsibility of the student. You may order them online 24 hours/day. Be sure to order in plenty of time for the first class. For Chemistry, contact Dr. Ken McGill or go onto the eCore Facebook site for info on buying and selling used lab kits. Buy new kits Here!  Please click on this link to find which textbooks, lab supplies, etc. are needed for your eCore class: http://ecore.usg.edu/courses/textbooks.php.
Technical Issues Technical issues are the responsibility of each student. eCore and SPSU take some responsibility only for the proper working of Vista. If your computer breaks or you lose Internet, you must correct it immediately because eCore, SPSU and the instructors do not recognize technical failure as an excuse for not completing your work.
Technical Support eCore, the Board of Regents, WebCT and SPSU offer an impressive range of technical support services. Start with our technical support page.
Proctored Tests (SPSU procedures) Scheduling a proctored exam is a two-step process! If you wish to have your exam proctored at SPSU, the first step is to contact the eCore Office. You may drop off a completed form, e-mail the required information (see our page on Proctored Exams at left) or you may call. Once you have been scheduled, you must then go online to the eCore web site and complete the proctored exam request. These two steps ensure that you and your test are in the same place at the same time.
Appeals Appeals begin with the instructor. eCore students will follow SPSU's appeal process whenever possible.
