Proctored Tests in eCore®
Overview of Important Facts:
- All eCore classes may require one or two proctored exams during the semester.
- The cost of proctoring is the responsibility of the student.
- Scheduling a proctored exam is the responsibility of the student.
- There are many proctoring sites in Georgia and around the world.
- You can pick a proctoring site convenient to you.
- Proctoring sites charge their own fees which may range from $15/test to $60/hour for a 3-hour exam.
- Southern Polytechnic State University charges $25/test.
- All tests to be proctored on the SPSU campus are scheduled through the eCore Office 678-915-4984, Room J330.
- After scheduling with the SPSU eCore office for testing on campus, the student must then convey the scheduled time, date and place using the Internet form to the eCore Administrators in Athens. (Refer to #4.)
- No matter where you test, you still have to schedule your test and convey the scheduled time, date and place using the Internet form to the eCore Administrators in Athens. (Refer to #6.)
- There is a late fee if eCore in Athens is not given your test schedule within the time frame they publish for each semester.
- Proctoring may be paid for at the time of the exam. Only cash or check will be accepted. No credit cards, please.

Scheduling a Proctored Exam to be taken at SPSU:
- Check with your instructor for the dates you may take an exam. As soon as you know the dates, you should schedule your exam, by finishing the following three steps. You will be accessed a late fee of $15, by the University of Georgia testing center in Athens, if you are late.
- Call, email or drop by Room J330, Extended University, eCore Office, ecore@spsu.edu, 678-915-4984, to request a date and time for your exam.
- The eCore administrator will give you an exact time, date and place for your exam at that time. Write down the information.
- Go online to the eCore exam center and complete the online form filling in the date, time and place you have scheduled for your exam. You will be accessed a late fee of $15, by the University of Georgia testing center in Athens, if you are late.
If you complete these steps exactly, your exam will be at the proctoring site when you arrive.

Taking the Proctored Exam at SPSU:
- Check with the instructor to find out what you may and may not bring to your exam (pens, paper, pencils, calculators and what kind).
- You will be required to show two different picture ID to prove your identity.
- Come 10 - 15 minutes early to ensure that everything is in order and that you are in the right place for your exam.
- Payment is due at the time you take your test ($25.00, if testing at SPSU). Only cash or personal checks are accepted. You must pay before you can begin your exam.
- When you receive your test, make sure your name is on it, and that it is for the right course.

Choosing a Proctored Exam Site other than SPSU and Scheduling an Exam:
- Check with your instructor for the dates you may take an exam. As soon as you know the dates, you should schedule your exam, by finishing the following five steps. You will be accessed a late fee of $15, by the University of Georgia testing center in Athens, if you are late.
- Go online to the eCore exam center
- Click on the link for "Approved Proctored Sites." This is an abbreviated list. There are literally thousands of proctoring sites around the world.
- If you need a site closer to you than those listed, contact the testing.coordinator@gactr.uga.edu for additional options. Keep in mind that almost any university or college probably offers test proctoring for a fee, and that the cost of these fees vary from school to school.
- Contact the exam site you choose to request a date and time for your exam. The exam administrator will give you an exact time, date and place for your exam at that time. Write down the information. You should also find out the exam cost, what forms of payment are accepted, and what forms of identification the exam site will require.
- Go online to the eCore exam center and complete the online form filling in the date, time and place you have scheduled for your exam. You will be accessed a late fee of $15, by the University of Georgia testing center in Athens, if you are late.
If you complete these steps exactly, your exam will be at the proctoring site when you arrive.
